Ace Rothstein and Nicky Santoro, mobsters who move to Las Vegas to
make their mark, live and work in this paradoxical world. Seen
through their eyes, each as a foil to the other, the details of mob
involvement in the casinos of the 1970's and '80's are revealed.
Ace is the smooth operator of the Tangiers casino, while Nicky is
his boyhood friend and tough strongman, robbing and shaking down
the locals. However, they each have a tragic flaw, Ace falls in
love with a hustler, Ginger, and Nicky falls into an ever-deepening
spiral of drugs and violence. If you haven't seen "Casino" yet,
stop whatever it is you're doing, rush to the nearest video store,
rent it, and watch it. "Casino" exemplifies not only the best of a
Scorsese film, but transcends it. This movie is truly a gem.

The Disney-ization of Los Vegas is seen as a bad thing?
Here the street wise bookie becomes a Casino boss
and everything goes well until his marriage hits
the rocks. The Robert de Niro character survives
but everyone else dies in this modern tragedy
that reminds one of a Shakespeare play.
My take on this is that the next generation
crime bosses are the ones behind the laundered money
corporations that run Los Vegas now.
The fantastic profits are still there and
still being sent in suitcases to the people running things,
but just in a way that is apparently completely legal.
Cheaters in the Casinos still gets treated pretty much the
same?
There are still holes dug in the desert...

90's,
With "GOODFELLAS" and "CASINO".
This Movie shows how the MAFIA fumbled the ball in Las Vegas &
lost
all ties to the city in the Desert.
They go from making millions to making the biggest mistake of
their
life!!
If you like MAFIA movies check this one out, I give it 5 of 5
